On 24 July, President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President António Costa, together with High Representative and Vice-President Kaja Kallas, will be in China for the 25th Summit. There, President von der Leyen, together with President Costa, will meet President Xi Jinping and then Premier Li Qiang.
As the EU and China celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025, the Summit will provide an opportunity for the leaders to discuss the bilateral relationship in all its aspects and areas, such as trade and investment, climate, energy and environment, digital issues, as well as the global and geopolitical situation.
Following the Summit, President von der Leyen and President Costa will hold a press conference at 14.00 CEST, broadcast on EBS.
The Summit follows the EU-China Strategic Dialogue on 2 July, the EU-China High Level Environment and Climate Dialogue on 14 July, and the EU-China Human Rights Dialogue on 14 June.
