The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is dedicated to promoting social justice, internationally recognised human and labour rights, pursuing its founding mission: social justice is essential for universal and lasting peace.
The only tripartite agency of the UN, the ILO brings together governments, employers and workers from 187 Member States to set labour standards, formulate policies and develop programmes promoting decent work for all, women and men.
The ILO Internship Programme offers a wide range of opportunities to graduate/postgraduate students and recent graduates seeking a “hands-on” learning experience in fields related to the ILO’s mandate and activities for a period of three to six months.
Requirements:
- Students enrolled in the final year of a postgraduate programme (master’s or equivalent) or a higher degree programme relevant to the work of the ILO, or who have completed such a programme in the year prior to application
- Have a working knowledge of at least one of the ILO’s working languages (English, French or Spanish).
- There is no age limit.
Benefits:
- Interns receive a monthly grant from the ILO based on the cost of living in the area of the place of assignment, unless they receive funding through another institution (e.g. a university or foundation). If interns receive partial funding, the ILO will cover the difference to ensure that they receive the corresponding monthly stipend
- Travel to the place of assignment is at the intern’s own expense.
Deadline: 08-03-2026.
