The European Commission is organising an online translation contest to give secondary school students a first-hand experience of what it is like to be a translator.
Contest Details:
- Students must be 17 years old.
- Students choose their starting and target languages from the EU official languages.
- Test Date: 27 November 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM CET.
- Test Location: Schools’ premises.
- Translations must be saved and submitted on the contest platform.
School Requirements:
- Located in an EU country.
- Recognised by educational authorities.
- Have necessary IT equipment.
- Select 2-5 students born in 2008.
- Selected schools must register on the contest platform by 19 November 2025, 12 PM CET
Prize
The best translator from each EU country will be invited to Brussels for an awards ceremony.
Travel and accommodation costs will be covered for one winner, one teacher, and one accompanying adult per country.
How
Entrants can register on the Contest Platform until 14 October 2025 at 12.00 midday CET.
Schools will be selected randomly.
The list of selected schools will be published by the end of October.
