The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) organises traineeship once a year, each for a period of five to nine months. ECDC is an EU agency which aims to strengthen Europe’s defences against infectious diseases.
Applicants may submit one application only.
Eligibility criteria
- Nationals of the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway;
- Have completed their studies and been awarded a full university degree by the closing date for applications;
- Have a very good command of English; knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset.
- Candidates cannot have already benefited or benefit from any kind of traineeship or employment (formal or informal, paid or unpaid) within a European institution, agency or body, or delegation.
Trainees are expected to start the programme between February and May 2026.
Grant
Interns receive a monthly grant (2 085.18 EUR as of 2025) and a travel allowance.
