Applications are invited for this internship project at the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol).
The aim of this internship project announcement is to establish a reserve list of successful candidates for two teams in the Capabilities Directorate of Europol.
There are currently two (2) internship slots available – one slot in the Financial Administration team and another one in the IM Strategy, Planning & Business Product Management team whereby the selected applicant will join the internship project for a minimum period of 6 months and a maximum period of 12 months, including any possibility of extension based on the performance of the intern, the interest of the service and budget availability, with a work schedule of 40 hours a week. The internship will take place at the Europol premises in The Hague, The Netherlands.
Based on the profile of the successful candidates, the intern will be allocated to one of the teams listed below:
Financial Administration Team, Finance Unit
This internship project focuses on supporting the management in the transition from the current financial system (ABAC) to a new financial system (SUMMA) and its integration with documents management systems.
The assigned activities will include:
• Learn and familiarise yourself with financial processes and systems, ABAC, SUMMA, and related document management systems;
• Assist in testing various financial processes in the SUMMA test environment and the relationship with the document management systems;
• Assist drafting and updating existing financial process descriptions to align with SUMMA and with the document management systems;
• Support drafting and updating of training materials to reflect the SUMMA processes;
• Support project archiving and other SUMMA-related tasks;
• Any other related activities under the supervision of the internship supervisor.
Information Management (IM) Strategy, Planning & Business Product Management Team, IM Unit
The internship project will be focussed on providing support to the Corporate Quality & Process Management Function (QPM) in further improving and optimising the existing Business Process Management & Analysis solution. This solution serves as the corporate process repository accessible to all staff.
The assigned activities will include:
• Familiarise yourself with the Business Process Management & Analysis solution and support identifying areas for improvement;
• Support the harmonisation of information in process documentation and the different repositories of the solution to ensure consistency and clarity;
• Support the definition and analysis of business processes including the creation of the required process documentation;
• Assist in creating and updating end-user documentation, training and communication materials;
• Support the project to upgrade the solution to a new version including reviewing, updating, and performing test cases;
• Any other related activities under the supervision of the internship supervisor.
Requirements
- Be a national of a Member State of the European Union;
- Have reached the age of majority in their country of origin;
- Have a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies or vocational training relevant for the tasks of Europol. Only diplomas issued by EU Member State authorities and diplomas recognised as equivalent by the relevant EU Member State bodies are accepted. If the main studies took place outside the European Union or at a non-EU establishment located within the European Union the candidate’s qualification (hereinafter “non-EU diploma”), must have been recognised by a body delegated officially for the purpose by one of the European Union Member States (such as a national Ministry of Education);
- Have very good knowledge of English, which is Europol’s main language of internal communication, and a satisfactory knowledge (corresponding at least to B1 level of the Common European framework of reference for the level of languages) of another language of the European Union.
- Not have already for more than six weeks:
- Benefited from any kind of internship (formal or informal, paid or unpaid) within a European institution, agency or body (including Europol), or
- Had any kind of employment within a European institution, agency or body (including Europol).
Benefits
During the period of internship, interns currently receive a MONTHLY MAINTENANCE GRANT of 1.602 EUR, serving the purpose to cover the costs of living in The Netherlands.
