The Youth Dialogue on Internet Governance (YOUthDIG) is the annual event preceding the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG), which aims to empower young people to shape Europe’s digital future. Each year, we fully fund passionate young people aged 18 to 30 from across Europe to participate and immerse themselves in urgent debates on digital policies and emerging issues. To this end, they receive practical training in capacity building that will enable them to actively contribute to EuroDIG and connect with their peers through dynamic intercultural exchanges that foster collaboration and understanding.
Our commitment to youth empowerment goes beyond the event itself: it is based on a culture of continuous reflection and evidence-based practices. As part of our dedication to research-based implementation, we conducted a comprehensive study on meaningful youth participation, included in our “A Decade of…”series.This work explores how the roles of young people in digital governance are evolving and how their contributions can be more effectively supported and integrated.
Participants have the opportunity to:
- Experience peer learning and networking with young people living in Europe;
- Learn about Internet governance and how to participate in Internet Governance Forum (IGF) processes;
- Discuss and exchange ideas with experienced Internet policy professionals;
- Develop policy messages and present them at EuroDIG and the global IGF.
