The #BeActive EU Sport Awards recognise outstanding initiatives that promote sport and physical activity. The awards will reward achievements in five categories: “physical activity”, “inclusion”, “volunteering”, “between generations” and “peace”. The award, for which a call for nominations has been launched today, will be funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
Glenn Micallef, Commissioner for Intergenerational Equity, Youth, Culture and Sport, said: “The new #BeActive EU Sport Awards reflect the essence of our European sport model based on solidarity and values, and celebrate the commendable work of organisations and individuals in bringing sport and physical activity closer to people and promoting EU values through sport. These efforts deserve to be recognised and widely shared. I count on everyone, in particular our European sporting community, to help us reach out to all corners of Europe and get as many nominations as possible.
This new initiative builds on the success of two predecessors, the #BeActive Awards and the #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards. With a budget of €125,000, the total prize fund has been increased compared to previous initiatives. For each category, the winner will receive €15,000 and the other two runners-up will receive €5,000. The deadline for applications is 24 September 2025 at 17:00 Central European Time (CET). The finalists and winners will be announced in spring 2026.
More information on the call and how to apply can be found on the EU Sport website and on the EU funding calls for proposals portal.
