Aceite del Somontano” is an extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) from olive trees located in a defined geographical area in the center of the province of Huesca (Aragon), in a transit zone between the central Pyrenees and the Ebro valley. The “Aceite del Somontano” presents a sensory profile with clearly perceptible intensities, reflecting its complexity with the required presence of at least three descriptors, direct or retronasal olfactory aromatic sensations, without the presence of astringency. The green fruity notes of olive, grass, leaf, almond, tomato and green stand out.
These new designations join the more than 3,688 protected designations already listed in the eAmbrosia database. For more information, see the quality policy pages.
