
In the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation, in the Cartography Research Unit, the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) is offering a doctoral assistant position (all genders), with an expected duration of 4 years and 30 hours per week. Expected start date: April 2026.
Tasks:
- Collaboration in research and teaching tasks, as well as examinations.
- Supervision of students
- Research activity and projects
- Deepening scientific knowledge
- Writing theses and publications
- Participation in scientific events
- Collaboration in organisational and administrative tasks
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or diploma in one of the following fields: Cartography, Geoinformation
- Knowledge of scientific working methods
- In-depth knowledge in the field of theoretical and applied cartography.
- Very good communication and writing skills in German and English.
- Interest in research in the field, as well as in working with students.
- Ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
Benefits:
The starting salary is determined according to salary category B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. Currently, this minimum is €2,832.10 gross per month, paid 14 times a year for 30 hours per week. Relevant work experience may increase the monthly salary.
