
The eleventh edition of the CASSINI Hackathon challenges participants to harness European space technologies to develop solutions that protect and manage our planet’s most vital resource: water. This event brings together programmers, problem-solvers and innovators from across Europe to develop cutting-edge solutions that can tackle some of today’s challenges.
The challenges for this edition focus on:
- Ensuring equitable and efficient access to water.
- Monitoring and preventing water pollution
- Disaster risk monitoring
It will take place between 24 and 26 April 2026 simultaneously in 10 different locations (Austria, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Norway, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands and Spain).
Who can apply?
- Students, entrepreneurs, engineers, designers, researchers.
- You must be aged 18 or over at the start of the Hackathon (24 April).
- Residents of the European Union (any country) or a non-EU country associated with Horizon Europe (or currently in negotiations for such association).
- All teams must have at least 3 members and can have up to a maximum of 8 members.
Grants
Cash prizes of up to €9,000 (1st: €5,000, 2nd: €3,000, 3rd: €1,000) plus 6 months of mentoring.
