Today, Thursday 3 April, Commissioner Dubravka Šuica participates in the opening of the Forum on the Future of the Mediterranean in Granada, under the Spanish Presidency of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean. She will address the opening session, alongside speeches by His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain, the President of the Spanish Congress of Deputies and the President of the Spanish Senate.
The Commissioner will also meet with the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives and the Vice-President of the Algerian National People’s Assembly. The opening session will be followed by four working groups on peace and stability, migration, climate change, youth employment and gender equality.
The Forum will be attended by Members of the European Parliament, Members of EU national parliaments and Mediterranean partners, the Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, the Executive Director of the Anna Lindh Foundation, EU Member States and Mediterranean partners. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean is an institution of the Barcelona Process launched in 1995.
