The European Commission has launched a call for proposals with a budget of €7.4 million to support independent reporting on EU affairs by European newsrooms.
The need for debate in the European public sphere remains pressing, so this call offers support to media wishing to jointly report on European affairs and provide citizens with a cross-border perspective on current events.
The funding will support two to four projects, starting in early 2026 for a period of 24 months, focusing on news production and management and objective programming. The deadline for applications is 29 September.
This is the second call to support these media centres, following a successful launch in 2022 and the development of three projects. This call for proposals is part of the multimedia actions, which fund general EU information, news and programmes for the public from a European perspective.
