The Commission has announced the winners of the 10th edition of the EU Prize for Women Innovators. The winner of the “Emerging Innovators” category is María González Manso, CEO and co-founder of tucuvi, which automates follow-up phone consultations using empathic artificial intelligence.
In the Women Innovators category, the winner Rana Sanyal (Turkey) is the Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of RS Research, which develops smart nanomedicines for targeted chemotherapy. The winner of the EIT Women’s Leadership Award is Yuliia Bialetska (Ukraine), CEO and co-founder of S.lab, which develops alternatives to plastic foam packaging.
Iliana Ivanova, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, said: “This edition of the EU Prize for Women Innovators marks ten years of honouring women leading innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe. Their pioneering ideas, passion and determination are an inspiration to us all and remind us of the importance of promoting gender balance in the European innovation landscape.
The EU Prize for Women Innovators is awarded to women from across the EU and Horizon Europe partner countries whose disruptive innovations are driving positive change for people and the planet. The winners are chosen by a jury of independent experts. The award is jointly managed by the Executive Agency for the European Innovation Council and SMEs (Eismea) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).
