Exploration of citizen engagement methodologies in European R&I projects 3.0 Consumer & citizen engagement working group

The Consumer and Citizen Engagement Working Group (CCE WG) is part of the BRIDGE H2020 initiative, and it aims at creating a structured understanding of the role and methodologies of stakeholder engagement activities in European R&I projects. During the last Work Plan period (2022-2023), sub-groups got activated according to the conclusions from the last CCE WG Report 2022 the interest and will of BRIDGE project members participating in the WG CCE CCE and the consumers-related chapter of the Digitalisation of Energy Action Plan (DoEP). The latter reads “the European Commission will ensure that key R&I projects work together to identify, by mid-2023, strategies to engage consumers in the design and use of accessible and affordable digital tools and to identify indicators to assess engagement over time.”. Based on these premises, during the 2022 General Assembly, the CCE WG collectively planned to work on the following specific topics and actions during the 2022-2023 period, to respond to the needs and gaps identified in previous years and in the DoEP. To meet these goals, three sub-groups were structured under the Working Group. The structure, scope and focus of these sub-groups is detailed in the table below. The work carried out in the Working Group has been identified as an action delivered under the Action Plan on the Digitalisation of the Energy System.
