On 13 May 2020, the European Commission adopted a communication, ‘Tourism and transport in 2020 and beyond’, accompanied by a package of three sets of guidelines and a recommendation to help Member States gradually lift travel restrictions and allow tourism and transport businesses to reopen, while respecting necessary health and safety precautions. The issue is due to be debated during Parliament’s June plenary session.

During the June part-session, Parliament is expected to vote on giving its consent to the conclusion of a new protocol implementing the EU fisheries agreement with the Republic of Cape Verde. The protocol allows EU vessels to fish for tunas in the waters of Cape Verde and aims to promote a sustainable fisheries policy and sound exploitation of fisheries resources, as well as the development of Cape Verde’s blue economy.

Europe is embarking on a transition towards climate neutrality and digital leadership. European industry can lead the way as we enter this new age, as it has done in the past. To this end, we point out in this document significant events in this agenda from 2-15 June.

Europa acomete su transición hacia la neutralidad climática y el liderazgo digital. La industria europea puede abrir el camino en esta nueva era, como ya lo ha hecho en el pasado. Al efecto, señalamos a continuación eventos significativos de esta agenda desde el 2 al 15 de junio.

La región septentrional y occidental de Irlanda abarca 25.277 km², que representan el 36,2% de la masa terrestre de la República de Irlanda.
