Título: Study on national digital public services in the justice field. Final report
Summary:Digitalisation of justice aims to facilitate access to justice, improve its overall efficiency and ensure the resilience of justice systems, especially in times of crises. In 2020, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the justice field, the Commission undertook several initiatives to step up digitalisation of justice. The Communication on Digitalisation of justice in the European Union, A toolbox of opportunities, adopted in December 2020, foresees the establishment of a tool, “My e-Justice Space”, on the European e-Justice Portal. This tool will facilitate access to various national digital public services in the justice area. In a number of Member States, individuals and legal persons already have online access to different public services offered online by the judiciary and public administrations. Such digital public services save time, can be accessed from anywhere and are available even in challenging situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. However, individuals and businesses are often not fully aware of the existence of these services.
