Resumen:Este documento de desafío ofrece una primera visión general del ejercicio de aprendizaje mutuo sobre la ciencia ciudadana establecido por el Mecanismo de Apoyo a las Políticas (PSF) y la DG de Investigación e Innovación para proporcionar apoyo práctico a los Estados miembros en relación con el Tema 2 - Buenas prácticas en ciencia ciudadana y su impacto. Comienza con una breve visión general del papel de la Ciencia Ciudadana en la Investigación e Innovación, para luego presentar los principales retos y barreras para la Ciencia Ciudadana. A continuación, se reflexiona sobre las diferentes variables a tener en cuenta para que las iniciativas de Ciencia Ciudadana tengan éxito durante todo el ciclo de implementación, incluyendo la necesidad de demostrar su impacto a diferentes niveles. Por último, se reflexiona sobre los mecanismos de apoyo que pueden establecerse a nivel nacional para la integración de la SC en el EEI y para contribuir a la sostenibilidad de los proyectos en curso. Este documento de desafío representa el punto de partida de los talleres que tendrán lugar los días 7 y 14 de marzo de 2022.
Summary:This Challenge Paper provides a first overview on the Mutual Learning Exercise on Citizen Science set up by the Policy Support Facility (PSF) and DG Research and Innovation to provide practical support to Member States in relation to Topic 2 - Good Practices on Citizen Science and their Impact. It starts with a brief overview of the role of Citizen Science in Research & Innovation, to then present the main challenges and barriers for Citizen Science. Following, it reflects on different variables to be considered to make Citizen Science initiatives successful during the whole implementation cycle, including the need to demonstrate their impact at different levels. Finally, it reflects upon support mechanisms that can be set in place at national level for the mainstreaming of CS in the ERA, and for contributing to the sustainability of ongoing projects. This challenge paper represents the starting point of the workshops taking place on the 7th and 14th of March 2022.
