Resumen:Esta Guía de Estadísticas Comerciales contiene una selección de cuadros y gráficos que describen la situación actual y la evolución reciente del comercio exterior de la Unión Europea, es decir, su comercio con el resto del mundo. En 2021, el comercio exterior a nivel mundial comenzó a recuperarse de la importante sacudida causada por la COVID-19 en el año anterior, cuando el comercio mundial de bienes se contrajo casi un 10 % y el de servicios más de un 20 %. Las estadísticas sobre el comercio de bienes, el comercio de servicios y la inversión extranjera directa son elementos clave en cualquier descripción de los resultados comerciales de la UE con el resto del mundo. Las publican la oficina estadística de la UE (Eurostat) y organizaciones internacionales como el Banco Mundial, el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI), las Naciones Unidas (ONU) y la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC). Las estadísticas se presentan en forma de cuadros y gráficos, desglosados por principal socio comercial, categoría de producto y año. También se han añadido estadísticas de apoyo, como el producto interior bruto (PIB), los tipos de cambio y el comercio por Estado miembro.

Summary:This Trade Statistical Guide contains selected tables and graphs outlining the current state of and recent developments in the European Union’s foreign trade, i.e. its trade with the rest of the world. In 2021, foreign trade at global level started recovering from the significant shock caused by COVID-19 in the previous year when world trade in goods contracted by almost 10% and world trade in services by more than 20%. Statistics on trade in goods, trade in services and foreign direct investment are key elements in any description of the trade performance of the EU with the rest of the world. These are published by the statistical office of the EU (Eurostat) and by international organisations such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the United Nations (UN) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). The statistics are presented in the form of tables and charts, broken down by main trading partner, product category and year. Supportive statistics such as gross domestic product (GDP), exchange rates and trade by Member State have also been added.
