Título: Consumer protection in the context of overdraft facilities and overrunning
Resumen:Utilizando los datos disponibles, el estudio completo original examina la práctica de la concesión de créditos sobre la base legal de los contratos de crédito en forma de facilidad de descubierto y de rebasamiento en toda la UE y, con mayor profundidad, en determinados Estados miembros. Además, el estudio analiza el estado de la protección de los consumidores en la Directiva de Crédito al Consumo (DCC) actualmente vigente sobre este tipo de contratos de crédito e identifica una serie de posibilidades de futuras normativas para mejorar la hasta ahora limitada protección en este sector crediticio.
Summary:Using available data, the original full study examines the practice of granting credit on the legal basis of credit agreements in the form of an overdraft facility and overrunning in the whole EU and, in more depth, in selected Member States. Furthermore, the study analyses the state of consumer protection in the currently valid Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) on these types of credit agreements and identifies a number of possibilities for future regulations to improve the so far limited protection in this credit sector.
