Título: Avian influenza overview September – December 2021
Resumen:Entre el 16 de septiembre y el 8 de diciembre de 2021, se notificaron 867 detecciones del virus de la gripe aviar altamente patógena (IAAP) en 27 países de la UE/EEE y el Reino Unido en aves de corral (316), en aves silvestres (523) y en aves cautivas (28). Las detecciones en aves de corral fueron notificadas principalmente por Italia (167), seguida de Hungría y Polonia (35 cada una). La mayoría de las detecciones en aves silvestres fueron notificadas por Alemania (280), Países Bajos (65) y Reino Unido (53). La persistencia observada y la circulación continua de los virus de la IAAP en las aves silvestres migratorias y residentes seguirán suponiendo un riesgo para la industria avícola en Europa durante los próximos meses.
Summary:Between 16 September and 8 December 2021, 867 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus detections were reported in 27 EU/EEA countries and the UK in poultry (316), in wild (523) and in captive birds (28). The detections in poultry were mainly reported by Italy (167) followed by Hungary and Poland (35 each). Tha majority of the detections in wild birds were reported by Germany (280), Netherlands (65) and United Kingdom (53). The observed persistence and continuous circulation of HPAI viruses in migratory and resident wild birds will continue to pose a risk for the poultry industry in Europe for the coming months.
