The staff of the EED Secretariat comprises nationals from 27 different countries, including Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. EED staff members have lived for extended periods in the countries where the organisation operates.
EED also works with local consultants based in the regions where it operates.

The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) is a grant-making organisation based in Brussels. The EED’s aim is to provide flexible support to democracy activists, complementing other democracy support programmes run by the EU and its Member States.
Requirements:
- You must be under 30 years of age.
- In addition to English, proficiency in one of the languages of the Western Balkans is required.
- Citizenship of an EU Member State or residence in the European Union is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Hold a university degree obtained no more than 24 months ago or be currently enrolled at a university in a third country (non-EU) or
- Be enrolled at a Belgian university and hold an Annex 15 or a Type A residence permit allowing unrestricted access to the Belgian labour market.
