The European Central Bank offers internships to be part of the Editorial Division of its Directorate General Communications. The Directorate General has approximately 250 staff members who communicate the ECB’s official position. They inform the public and the media about the ECB’s tasks and mission and keep staff up to date on internal and ECB-related issues.
Your role
- prepare content and film videos for the ECB’s social media channels;
- contribute to the team’s understanding of the social media landscape and identify the most effective channels and content for us to reach our target audience;
- actively contribute to various ongoing projects, such as writing plain language explanations for the website;
- help produce the Euro Matters podcast by writing scripts and promoting episodes.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- a bachelor’s degree or higher in international relations, politics, economics, finance, journalism, communications, media studies, graphic design, psychology or another relevant field;
- strong presentation and writing skills, and the ability to make complex concepts easy to understand for the target audience;
- a solid knowledge of the ECB and its main tasks, as well as a basic understanding of monetary policy, banking supervision and economics;
- experience in creating content for social media, including creating and editing video content;
- a good understanding of current trends in digital communications;
- good knowledge of the MS Office suite;
- advanced (C1) proficiency in English and intermediate (B1) proficiency in at least one other official EU language, in accordance with theCommon European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Experience in filming and editing content for social media.
