The Molecular Biophysics Group, led by Prof. Georg Krainer at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences (IMB), is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our interdisciplinary research group at the University of Graz, Austria (funded by Horizon Europe – ERC).
This role focuses on developing advanced single-molecule fluorescence and microfluidic approaches (confocal, TIRF, single-molecule FRET) for biophysics, bioanalysis, and biosensing.
Requirements
Candidates should hold (or be close to completing) a Master’s degree in Physics, Biophysics, or a related discipline and have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Optics and microscopy, including experimental setup design and assay development
- Data analysis and programming, preferably using MATLAB or Python
- Experience in microfluidics and single-molecule fluorescence is desirable
