Eurodesk and the European Commission are inviting young journalists across Europe to join the pool of young journalists and put their skills into practice and report on issues that matter to them.
Being part of the pool of young journalists in Europe, you will make your voice heard by producing different kinds of content (writing, pictures, podcasting, videos…). The content produced by the Pool will be highlighted on the European Youth Portal (EYP) and its social media channels.
Eligibility criteria
- 18 to 30 years old (you must be at least 18 years old by 1 February 2026).
- Resident in one of the 36 Eurodesk countries (EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine, Georgia, and Switzerland).
- Able to contribute for a 1-year period (until the end of 2026).
- Be willing to travel 1-3 times during that period.
- Available to attend physical meetings in Brussels in mid-February and end of August-beginning of September 2026, as well as monthly online editorial meetings and training sessions.
- Able to write and communicate in English.
- Agree to the monthly content goals (publish at least 3 pieces of content, individually or in collaboration with other young journalists).
How it works
- Selection of the young journalists by December 2025.
- Meeting and training of the pool in February 2026 and August/September 2026 in Brussels (to be confirmed).
- Ongoing access to webinars with specialists.
- Participation in online editorial meetings (one each month) and producing 3 pieces of content per month. (articles/videos/podcasts/other formats) solo or in teams.
- You may be required to travel 1-3 times during the year to participate in international events.
- Ongoing evaluation and feedback of the Pool by Eurodesk Brussels Link and experts involved.
- The young journalists will work on a voluntary basis.
