Relations between the EU and Armenia continue to deepen at a crucial moment in the partnership, underscoring the strong shared commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation on key strategic priorities. In view of Commissioner Marta Kos’s planned visit on 19 and 20 March and ahead of the first EU-Armenia Summit, senior European Commission officials paid a working visit yesterday to assess progress in implementing the newStrategic Agenda for the EU-Armenia Partnership. This Strategic Agenda builds on the foundations ofthe long-term Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between the EU and Armenia (CEPA).
Regional connectivity in transport, energy and digital links was the focus of the discussions. Particular attention was paidtosupporting theArmenian Government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiativeand its implementation in synergy with theInterregional Connectivity Agenda. Options for EU support for jointly identified priority projects were outlined, with economic resilience and the creation of new opportunities for trade and mobility highlighted as shared interests.
The final design of the reform and investment package ofthe Resilience and Growth Plan for Armeniawas also confirmed with the government, including its second tranche of €202.5 million, previously announced by Commissioner Marta Kos during her visit in September 2025.
The European Union’s continued commitment to supporting democratic resilience was reaffirmed, with a particular focus on protecting the integrity of the upcoming electoral process.
