The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) offers paid traineeships for a period of ten months from 1 October to 31 July 2026. The Internships scheme aims at providing trainees with work experience in the administration of co-operation in the field of fundamental rights at the European level.
Eligibility criteria:
- nationals from EU Member States, EEA EFTA States, EU candidates and potential candidate countries;
- have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (i.e. university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications;
- very good knowledge of English
- candidates should not have had any kind of training or employment within an EU institution or body.
Candidates of Romani background and/or with a recognised disability are encouraged to apply.
Internships are offered in the following FRA Units:
- Director’s Office (DIR)
- Communications and Awareness Raising (CAR)
- Equality, Roma and Social Rights (ERSR)
- Institutional Cooperation & EU Charter (INST)
- Justice, Digital and Migration (JDM)
- Administration (ADMIN)
- Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Events organisation
Grants
Trainees are awarded a monthly grant of €1,574.00. Trainees with disabilities may receive a supplement to their grant equal to a maximum of 50% of the amount of the grant.
Eligibility
National of an EU Member State, EEA country, or EU candidate/potential candidate country (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo*, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine).
Very good English (B2 level).
University degree completed by March 1, 2025, and within 3 years of the application deadline.
Willingness to learn new technologies, keen attention to detail. No prior experience in the specified technologies is required, but a strong interest in learning is essential.
