The European Court of Auditors organises three traineeship sessions per year in areas of interest to its work.
Traineeships are granted for 3 to 5 months maximum. They may be remunerated (1600 €/month) or non-remunerated depending on the budgetary appropriations available.
The 3 sessions will cover the following periods:
– from 1 March to 31 July of the same calendar year;
– from 1 May to 30 September of the same calendar year;
– from 1 October of one calendar year until 28 (29) February of the next.
They offer different traineeship programmes. The eligibility criteria and the allowance may differ from one to the other.
- Standard traineeships: traineeships to university students and graduates in fields of study relevant to our work. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to spend 6 months in Luxembourg making a real contribution to our work and helping the EU to operate more effectively. (During your traineeship, you will receive an allowance of €1 600 per month.)
- Traineeships in artificial intelligence (AI): traineeships in AI to recent university graduates and doctoral students in the fields of AI, computer science, data science, information technology, or similar disciplines. Successful candidates will gain valuable first-hand work experience at an EU institution by contributing to projects in AI and similar areas. (During your traineeship, you will receive an allowance of €2 500 per month)
- Positive Action Programme for trainees with a disability: additional pathway for those with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments. (During your traineeship, you will receive an allowance of €2 000 per month.)
- Traineeships – SAI in EU candidate countries: traineeships to auditors from candidate countries’ supreme audit institutions (SAIs). These traineeships provide hands-on experience of European integration and of how an EU institution works in practice on a day-to-day basis. This experience should help these SAIs in their preparations for EU accession. (During your traineeship, you will receive an allowance of €1 800 per month.)
