The European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis, visits Madrid and Cadiz on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday 11 November, the Commissioner will hold a meeting in Madrid with the Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas Puchades, and will appear before the Joint Committee for the EU in Congress to present the priorities of his portfolio.
In the afternoon of the same day, he will inaugurate the second edition of the Blue Maritime Growth event at the Palacio de Congresos de Cádiz. He will then travel to Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), where he will meet with national and regional authorities and various representatives of the fishing sector in the Gulf of Cádiz, including the National Federation of Fishermen’s Guilds (FNCP), the Andalusian Federation of Fishing Associations (FAAPE), the Andalusian Federation of Fishermen’s Guilds (FACOPE) and the Fishermen’s Guild of Sanlúcar.
The visit will end on the 12th with a meeting with officials from the Andalusian Regional Government and with Commissioner Kadis attending the presentation of the new corporate identity of Conxemar, the Spanish Association of Wholesalers, Importers, Exporters and Transformers of Fishing and Aquaculture Products, at the Casa de Iberoamérica in Cádiz.
