On the one hand the pervasiveness of the Internet of Everything requires every electronic device to make use of cryptographic primitives; on the other hand, the advent of the quantum computer will require increasingly expensive cryptographic protocols in terms of energy consumption. The development of post-quantum lightweight cryptography will therefore be crucial. In the Green IT context, a central role is also played by Cloud Computing, which requires both special cryptography and good mathematical codes for efficient storage.
