While the quantity of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/eurostat\/statistics-explained\/index.php?title=Glossary:Extra-EU&amp;oldid=422551\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extra-EU<\/a>\u00a0ice cream imports declined (-4%) compared with 2019, the exports increased by 5%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Germany was the EU\u2019s main producer of ice cream<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-77818 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"538\" height=\"381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1.png 1754w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1-300x212.png 300w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1-1024x725.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1-768x543.png 768w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-1-1536x1087.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 538px) 100vw, 538px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the EU Member States, Germany was the main producer of ice cream in 2020, producing 642 million litres of ice cream. Germany was followed by France (2019 data: 516 million litres) and Italy (509 million litres).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As well as being the largest ice cream producer in 2020, Germany produced on average the cheapest ice cream at \u20ac1.3 per litre. France reported the highest price at \u20ac2.2 per litre of ice cream (2019 data), closely followed by Italy with the average price of \u20ac2.0 per litre of ice cream.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Top ice cream exporter: France<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-77820 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"513\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2.png 1740w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2-300x211.png 300w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2-1024x719.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2-768x539.png 768w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ice-cream-2-1536x1079.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">France exported 59 million kilograms of ice cream in 2020, accounting for 25% of extra-EU ice cream exports.
