The\u00a0European Commission<\/strong>\u00a0(EC) is looking for\u00a0administrators with an expertise in the fields of health and food safety<\/strong>. Recruited experts (grade AD 7) will mainly work at the EC\u2019s\u00a0Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE)<\/a>.\u00a0Successful candidates of\u00a0profiles 1 and 2<\/strong>\u00a0will be mainly\u00a0recruited in Brussels and Luxembourg<\/strong>, whilst laureates of\u00a0profile 3 will be recruited in Grange (Ireland)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We offer opportunities to experts who fit any of the\u00a0three profiles below<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Policymaking and law-making in the field of health<\/strong>: your\u00a0main tasks<\/u>\u00a0will be to develop policy and legislation in the area of health and to implement existing legislation. You will carry out preparatory socioeconomic studies and consult stakeholders and Member States. You will also carry out regulatory tasks in the various fields of health (including risk assessment and crisis management) and follow up scientific developments in these areas. You will prepare and participate in negotiations and monitor and use scientific advice issued by relevant EU agencies.<\/li>\n
  2. Policymaking and law-making in the field of food safety<\/strong>: your\u00a0main tasks<\/u>\u00a0will be to develop policy and legislation in the areas of food and feed safety, animal health and welfare, and plant health and to implement existing legislation. You will carry out preparatory socioeconomic studies and regulatory tasks, including risk assessment and crisis management. You will also prepare and participate in negotiations and follow up trade arrangements in the area of food and feed safety. You will contribute to the EU\u2019s international regulatory activities and trade policies and you will monitor and use scientific advice issued by relevant EU agencies.<\/li>\n
  3. Auditing, inspection and evaluation in the field of health and food safety<\/strong>: your\u00a0main tasks<\/u>\u00a0will be to carry out audits, inspections and evaluations of the performance of national authorities and other official entities responsible for the regulatory oversight and control in areas such as food and feed safety, animal health and welfare, plant health and health protection. Your administrative duties will include preparing audit and evaluation plans, drafting audit reports and helping to develop policies in light of the results of these audits.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Requirements<\/h3>\n

    To apply, you must be an\u00a0EU citizen<\/strong>\u00a0and have a thorough\u00a0knowledge of one of the EU official languages<\/strong>\u00a0and a satisfactory\u00a0knowledge of either English or French<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Additionally, you need a\u00a0university degree of at least 4 years in a subject related to the specific profile<\/strong>\u00a0(you can find the list of subjects per profile in the Notice of the Competition, available on our apply pages below), followed by\u00a0at least 6 years\u2019 professional experience<\/strong>\u00a0directly relevant to the duties of the chosen profile. Alternatively, you need to have a university degree of\u00a0at least 3 years<\/strong>\u00a0in a subject related to the specific profile, followed by\u00a0at least 7 years\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0relevant professional experience.<\/p>\n
