To do this, it consults and cooperates with its partners on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>collecting &amp; analysing information &amp; data through socio-legal research<\/li>\n<li>providing assistance &amp; expert advice<\/li>\n<li>communicating &amp; raising awareness of rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Structure<\/h3>\n<p>FRA has 5 departments; 2 are responsible for our robust evidence-based advice, while one actively engages with stakeholders. The Agency is headed by a <a title=\"Director\" href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/about-fra\/structure\/director\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Director<\/a>, guided by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a title=\"Management Board\" href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/about-fra\/structure\/management-board\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Management Board<\/a>, which defines work priorities, approves the budget and monitors FRA\u2019s work. It has independent experts appointed by each national government, 2 European Commission representatives and one from the Council of Europe.<\/li>\n<li>The <a title=\"Executive Board\" href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/about-fra\/structure\/executive-board\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Executive Board<\/a>, which prepares Management Board decisions<\/li>\n<li>The 11 independent <a title=\"Scientific Committee\" href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/about-fra\/structure\/scientific-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scientific Committee.<\/a> members, who guarantee that FRA&#8217;s work meets high scientific standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How it works<\/h3>\n<p>The Agency\u2019s work is guided by a <a class=\"no-laco\" href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/sites\/default\/files\/fra_strategic_plan_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">strategic plan<\/a> setting out what it aims to achieve. This frames FRA\u2019s work, along with the <a href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/about-fra\/what-we-do\/areas-of-work\/multi-annual-framework-2013-2017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">5-year framework<\/a>, drawn up after wide-ranging consultations with the Board and EU bodies. A detailed <a href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/about-fra\/what-we-do\/annual-work-programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">annual work programme<\/a> is also drawn up.<\/p>\n<p>FRA works closely with its partners at EU, national and local level to ensure that its activities are relevant to current fundamental rights issues and future trends.<\/p>\n<p>The Agency consults a wide range of stakeholders to make sure its projects match specific gaps and needs. To pool knowledge and resources, FRA also coordinates its research and shares its expertise with <a href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/cooperation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">numerous organisations<\/a>, including <a href=\"http:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/cooperation\/eu-partners\/eu-agencies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU agencies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Who benefits<\/h3>\n<p>FRA maintains ongoing cooperation with EU institutions and governments, providing them with independent expert advice and fundamental rights analysis.
