The fight for gender equality is something that has existed in the EU for years, although <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/coronavirus-present-situation-in-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Covid-19<\/a> has negatively affected women since most of them are included in essential services, such as healthcare, personal care and sales.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Equality between women and men must be ensured in all areas, including employment, work and pay<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fra.europa.eu\/en\/eu-charter\/title\/title-iii-equality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article 23 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"ep_gridcolumn ep-m_product\" data-view1200=\"8\" data-view1020=\"8\" data-view750=\"10\" data-view640=\"6\" data-view480=\"8\" data-view320=\"4\">\n<div class=\"ep_gridcolumn-content\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/multimedia.europarl.europa.eu\/embed\/?ul=es&amp;eid=0_t3goaf83&amp;uid=23448570&amp;pid=102&amp;mid=x_N01-AFPS-210226-IWOD_ev\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The report presented by UN Women has shown that the pandemic will drag 47 million more women and girls around the world below the poverty line, as the social and economic consequences of the virus have meant a great change in our lives.
