In the Council of the EU, informally also known as the Council,\u00a0government ministers from each EU country<\/strong>\u00a0meet to discuss, amend and adopt laws, and coordinate policies. The ministers have the authority to\u00a0commit their governments<\/strong>\u00a0to the actions agreed on in the meetings.<\/p>\n

Together with the\u00a0European Parliament<\/a>, the Council is the\u00a0main decision-making body<\/strong>\u00a0of the EU.<\/p>\n
