Seg\u00fan un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iea.org\/media\/publications\/mtrmr\/Renewables2017ExecutiveSummary.PDF\">informe<\/a> redactado por la Agencia Internacional de la Energ\u00eda, la proporci\u00f3n de renovables en la generaci\u00f3n el\u00e9ctrica alcanzar\u00e1 el 30 % en 2022, desde un 24 % en 2016. Si bien, en la actualidad, la energ\u00eda mareo y undimotriz suponen una peque\u00f1a aportaci\u00f3n a la producci\u00f3n energ\u00e9tica total, estas fuentes se est\u00e1n instalando cada vez en mayor cantidad para diversificar el abastecimiento energ\u00e9tico mundial de energ\u00edas renovables.<\/p>\n<p>Una empresa espa\u00f1ola dedicada al desarrollo de energ\u00eda mareomotriz, Magallanes Renovables, lleva probando su plataforma \u00abATIR\u00bb desde 2017 en el marco del proyecto financiado con fondos europeos OCEAN_2G. La empresa ha validado la segunda generaci\u00f3n de un dispositivo de dos megavatios en un entorno marino controlado en la r\u00eda de Vigo (Espa\u00f1a). Acaban adem\u00e1s de firmar un acuerdo con el Centro Europeo de Energ\u00edas Marinas (EMEC, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s) para la siguiente fase de demostraci\u00f3n de su prototipo.<\/p>\n<h3>Ensayos conectados a la red<\/h3>\n<p>En una <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emec.org.uk\/press-release-magallanes-renovables-gears-up-for-ocean_2g-deployment-to-emec\/\">nota de prensa<\/a> de EMEC, Alejandro Marques de Magallanes, director general de Magallanes Renovables, declar\u00f3: \u00abHemos probado nuestro dispositivo aqu\u00ed en Vigo y nos complace haber generado satisfactoriamente energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica en nuestras pruebas de arrastre. Continuaremos optimizando el sistema para extraer m\u00e1s energ\u00eda y garantizar que el dispositivo funcione a plena capacidad\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>En la misma nota de prensa se indica que el paso siguiente servir\u00e1 para remolcar el dispositivo a escala completa hasta las islas Orcadas en Escocia. El rendimiento operativo del sistema se demostrar\u00e1 en el banco de pruebas mareomotriz conectado a la red de EMEC en Fall of Warness. El director general de EMEC, Neil Kermode, a\u00f1adi\u00f3: \u00abEstamos deseando recibir de nuevo a Magallanes Renovables en Orcadas tras los buenos resultados de las pruebas anteriores realizadas en 2014 en EMEC. El proyecto supone otro progreso sustancial para el mercado de la energ\u00eda mareomotriz y 2018 podr\u00eda ser otro a\u00f1o lleno de actividades en nuestro centro de pruebas\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Tal y como se indica en<a href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/rcn\/207910_es.html\"> CORDIS<\/a>, Magallanes Renovables \u00abha dise\u00f1ado, construido y probado la plataforma a escala 1:10 en mar abierto y ya trabaja para concluir la construcci\u00f3n de un prototipo a escala real\u00bb. El proyecto en curso <a href=\"https:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/project\/rcn\/207910_es.html\">OCEAN_2G<\/a> (Second Generation technologies in ocean Energy) se propone comprobar, validar y precertificar una plataforma de energ\u00eda mareomotriz de dos megavatios de cara a su futura comercializaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>En el sitio web de Magallanes Renovables se informa de que en el proyecto se emplean tecnolog\u00edas de flotaci\u00f3n que prescinden de compuertas o represas y que no precisan de la construcci\u00f3n de pilares en el fondo marino, raz\u00f3n por la que pueden instalarse en cualquier lugar del mundo.
