The award is motivated by the clear commitment of the European Union and in particular, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to promote gender equality at all levels. FEDEPE stresses the importance of concrete measures promoted by the Commission to encourage a greater representation of women in positions of responsibility, committing itself to achieving parity at all levels of management by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The FEDEPE Awards are celebrating their 29th anniversary this year. Francisco Fonseca, Director of the Representation of the European Commission in Spain, thanked FEDEPE for this recognition and said: <em>&#8220;Gender equality is a fundamental principle of the European Union, but is not a reality yet. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has made it one of the cornerstones of her mandate to strongly work towards this end. She began by setting the tone by building the most equal Commission in history and ensuring a better gender balance in the cabinets. The next step will be to develop legal tools to fulfil the commitment she has made and to prevent and combat gender-based violence&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, <strong>Ana Bujald\u00f3n<\/strong>, President of FEDEPE, said, <em>&#8220;Ursula von der Leyen has made history by making gender equality a priority for the European Union, in order to make it the &#8216;Equality Union&#8217;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025 sets out a vision, policy objectives and actions to achieve concrete progress on gender equality in Europe and meet the Sustainable Development Goals. The ultimate goal is equality between all women and men, girls and boys, with all their diversity.\u00a0 As Bujald\u00f3n has stressed, paraphrasing von der Leyen, &#8220;We can only achieve our full potential if we use all our talents and diversity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h3>The XXIX edition of the FEDEPE Awards<\/h3>\n<p>The 29th FEDEPE Awards ceremony took place in a virtual format and was broadcast on 23 September via Youtube and the <a href=\"https:\/\/mujeresfedepe.com\/premios-fedepe\/\">FEDEPE website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The FEDEPE Awards began in 1989 and, since then, have become an important event in the calendar of women entrepreneurs and managers in Spain, as well as companies and institutions and society as a whole. \u00a0Throughout these years, they have become a benchmark for the business world and for the media, having so far distinguished a total of 168 female managers, professionals and entrepreneurs, as well as companies, institutions and the media.<\/p>\n<h3>More information<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/spain\/home_es\"><span class=\"auto-style15\"><span lang=\"ES\">European Commission in Spain<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mujeresfedepe.com\/premios-fedepe\/\">FEDEPE Awards<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Spanish Federation of Women Managers, Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs awarded the EU with the FEDEPE International Prize The Spanish Federation of Women Managers, Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs, FEDEPE, has given its International Award to the European Union for its Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025.
