The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Finance (FDEF) is searching for a research scientist working in sustainable finance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The University of Luxembourg, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of the Environment, Climate, and Sustainable Development recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a research and outreach program on sustainable finance under the leadership of the Faculty of Law, Econonomics, and Finance and its Department of Finance. The research scientist in sustainable finance will be a key player in the team working on sustainable finance, completed by a Full Professor in Sustainable Finance, and an Assistant Professor in Sustainable Finance which are to be hired.<\/p>\n

Your role<\/h3>\n

The goal of the Research Scientist in Sustainable Finance is to build up and to maintain a bridge between academic excellence and industry relevance. You will be the content oriented link between the academic finance profession and the financial industry, financial regulators, and national and supranational institutions. You will boost scientific knowledge dissemination and diffusion related to academic research in the area of Sustainable Finance.<\/p>\n

You will engage in research projects in close collaboration with the industry. In particular, you will engage in research projects in early phases, enabling succesfull grant applications. As such, you are expected to identify, apply for, and manage research funding. In addition, you will engage in disseminating knowlege, for example throught organizing academia-meets-industry events, life-long learning activities, and through social media. You can conduct your own research in sustainable finance and you will engage in the teaching activities of the department, both in Bachelor\/Master programs and in life-long learning activities.<\/p>\n

Your profile<\/h3>\n

\u2022 You have a PhD in finance or economics and you have developed an interest in sustainable finance or you have a PhD in a hard science field with a focus on sustainability (climate change, environment\u2026) and developed an interest in sustainable finance<\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrated excellence in designing and developing research projects and\/or educational programs targeting sustainable finance.<\/p>\n

\u2022 You have work experience in academia and the industry or you have worked in an academic environment with a focus on outreach activities (organizing industry oriented teaching programs, PPP research projects, or outreach events).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven teaching ability and experience.<\/p>\n

\u2022 PhD supervision experience is considered a plus.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrated excellence of organisational and management skills.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Willingness to work in an inter-cultural and international environment.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proficiency in English, and in German and\/or French.<\/p>\n
