It will also look at efficiency and whether the strategy usefully complements national efforts in this field.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2019, the Commission has published for feedback a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/initiatives\/ares-2019-2267798_en\">Roadmap for the evaluation of the Strategy<\/a>. The collected feedback has helped the Commission to design Terms of reference for a one-year external study in support of the evaluation. The study has been launched in October 2019 and is now ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Within the framework of the study, the contractor will perform a wide spectrum of consultation activities including a 12 weeks online public consultation.<\/p>\n<h3>Open Consultation Aim<\/h3>\n<p align=\"justify\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/2140-Evaluation-of-the-EU-Animal-Welfare-Strategy-2012-2015-\/public-consultation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">open public consultation<\/a>\u00a0consists of an online questionnaire, available in\u00a0all EU languages.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">This consultation aims to ensure broader coverage of individuals and organisations who would not be approached through other targeted consultation means.
