Secure, clean and efficient energy: Big data for buildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Big Data can lead to enhanced consumer information, contribute to an effective management of energy grids and support the creation of innovative energy services, new business models and financing schemes for distributed clean energy.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/arrows-blur-buttons-2115257-e1573032824326.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-27207 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/arrows-blur-buttons-2115257-300x204.jpg\" alt=\"computing ordenador tecnolog\u00edas\" width=\"300\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Specific challenge<\/h3>\n<p>Collecting and making available reliable data on buildings is a key challenge for the European Union. Enabling big data for buildings is key to achieving the EU targets.<\/p>\n<h3>Scope<\/h3>\n<p>Actions should focus on developing and demonstrating large-scale pilot test-beds for big data application in buildings.<\/p>\n<p>More specifically actions should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>define a reference architecture for buildings data.<\/li>\n<li>develop and pilot an open, cloud-based data analytics toolbox.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The reference architecture should ensure compatibility with existing dataset formats across Europe, allow integration with legacy architectures, encourage replication and scale-up and be compliant with applicable EU standards. The data architecture should be modular in order to accommodate data from various sources.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission considers that proposals requesting a contribution from the EU of <strong>between 3.5 and 4 million EUR<\/strong> would allow this area to be addressed appropriately. Nonetheless, this does not preclude submission and selection of proposals requesting other amounts.<\/p>\n<h3>Expected Impact<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Significant and measureable contribution to standardisation of European buildings data;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated interoperability with data hubs at national or supranational level;<\/li>\n<li>Creation of new data-driven business models and opportunities and innovative energy services based on the access and process of valuable datasets;<\/li>\n<li>Better availability of big data and big data analysis facilities for real-life scale research, simulation and policy-making;<\/li>\n<li>Tangible engagement of key stakeholders in building the database and contributing with real data;<\/li>\n<li>A growing up-take of innovative data gathering and processing methods in the monitoring and verification of energy savings;<\/li>\n<li>Effective integration of relevant digital technologies in the buildings sector, resulting in integrated value chains and efficient business processes of the participating organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Strengthened links with the relevant programmes and initiatives aiming at building data collection and storage, supported by regional, national and European policies and funds;<\/li>\n<li>Emergence of sustainable ecosystems around big data platforms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Deadline<\/h3>\n<p><strong>15 January 2020<\/strong> at 17:00\u00a0 Brussels time<\/p>\n<h3>More information<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/opportunities\/portal\/screen\/opportunities\/topic-details\/lc-sc3-b4e-6-2020;freeTextSearchKeyword=;typeCodes=1;statusCodes=31094502;programCode=H2020;programDivisionCode=31047938;focusAreaCode=null;crossCuttingPriorityCode=null;callCode=Default;sortQuery=openingDate;orderBy=asc;onlyTenders=false;topicListKey=topicSearchTablePageState\">Call<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/programmes\/horizon2020\/en\">H2020<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Big Data can lead to enhanced consumer information, contribute to an effective management of energy grids and support the creation of innovative energy services, new business models and financing schemes for distributed clean energy.
