The European Parliament is organising a conference on 20 November to mark the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The conference focuses on progress over the past three decades and reflects on the challenges that new generations face in a global and digital world.<\/p>\n

Her Majesty the Queen of the Belgians, Unicef Belgium\u2019s honorary president, and David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, are attending the opening of the conference.<\/p>\n

The conference also commemorates the 60th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly’s Declaration of the Rights of the Child.<\/p>\n

Delegates will discuss children\u2019s rights to live and thrive and their right to dream.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Protecting and promoting the rights of the child<\/h3>\n

The European Parliament is committed to protecting and promoting children’s rights, not just in Europe, but all over the world.<\/p>\n

Convention of the Rights of the Child<\/h3>\n

The\u00a0Convention on the Rights of the Child<\/a>\u00a0 strives to ensure better implementation of children’s rights worldwide. It has inspired the EU and its member states to change laws, policies and practices aimed at the protection and promotion of children\u2019s rights, independent of their nationality or residence status.<\/p>\n
