{"id":29478,"date":"2019-11-19T03:00:39","date_gmt":"2019-11-19T02:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=29478"},"modified":"2019-11-18T14:20:02","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T13:20:02","slug":"emff-ocean-monitoring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/emff-ocean-monitoring\/","title":{"rendered":"EMFF : Ocean-Monitoring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Ocean energy could provide clean, predictable, indigenous and reliable energy and contribute to the EU&#8217;s objective of reaching a share of renewables of at least 32% of the EU\u2019s gross final consumption by 2030.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/waves-1867285_1920.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-27939 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/waves-1867285_1920-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"ola en el mar con puesta de sol\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/waves-1867285_1920-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/waves-1867285_1920-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/waves-1867285_1920-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/waves-1867285_1920.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Challenge<\/h3>\n<p>The general objectives of this call for proposals are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To increase the amount of environmental data and improve knowledge on assessing possible impacts of ocean energy devices deployed at sea.<\/li>\n<li>To contribute to reducing uncertainty in modelling potential impacts of future ocean energy devices.<\/li>\n<li>To provide guidance to ocean energy developers and to public competent authorities in charge of licencing and maritime planning.<\/li>\n<li>To inform stakeholders and help feed the public debate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Scope<\/h3>\n<p>The geographic area covered by the action includes the whole of the EU.\u00a0<em>Activities outside of the EU may be included if relevant to achieving the overall and specific objectives of this call.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It is estimated that proposals requesting a contribution from the EU of between <strong>EUR 800,000 and EUR 1,500,000<\/strong> would allow the objectives of this call for proposals to be addressed appropriately. Nonetheless, this does not preclude submission and selection of proposals requesting other amounts.<\/p>\n<h3>Expected impact<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved environmental information on deployments of ocean energy devices at sea condition in test centres or commercial sites.<\/li>\n<li>Identified and covered gaps in knowledge in the area of consenting and licencing.<\/li>\n<li>Increased exchange of information on environmental status and possible impacts of ocean energy devices between EU Member States consenting authorities.<\/li>\n<li>Increased awareness of and education in environmental monitoring, control and maritime spatial planning.<\/li>\n<li>Increased public awareness, engagement and social acceptance of ocean energy projects.<\/li>\n<li>Development and integration of publicly available recommendations and tools (for decision makers, developers, stakeholders, etc.), which will be used to improve and streamline processes and reduce duplication of efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the identification and selection of sites as well as future consenting.<\/li>\n<li>Integration\/Updating environmental data platform aligned with relevant existing legislation and initiatives (e.g. EMODnet, Inspire Directive, Marine Strategy Framework Directive, Maritime Spatial Planning, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Participants<\/h3>\n<p>Legal persons,\u00a0private entities, public entities, or international organisations established in one of the\u00a0EU Member States and PTU.
