They can apply for an internship at the CoR or for a short study visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/adolescent-business-computer-1595391-e1545037456512.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-10826 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/adolescent-business-computer-1595391-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Standard traineeship<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each year, the CoR offers young university graduates a limited number of five-month traineeships. These training periods involve work experience in one of the Committee of the Regions&#8217; services, and run from 16 February until 15 July (Spring traineeships) or from 16 September to 15 February (Autumn traineeships).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The purpose of the organisation of traineeships in the CoR is:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>to provide a first-hand experience of the workings of the CoR and of the EU institutions in general;<\/li>\n<li>to provide practical knowledge of the working of its departments;<\/li>\n<li>to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment;<\/li>\n<li>to enable trainees to have the opportunity to organise a study visit to a European local or regional authority, in connection with the Committee\u2019s political priorities;<\/li>\n<li>to enable trainees to develop and put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during their studies or personal careers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Trainees are selected from nationals of the EU Member States. However a limited number of citizens from third countries (including the UK) may be accepted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Applicants must:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>have obtained a full undergraduate academic degree, or have completed at least the third year of higher education (university or equivalent), by the closing date for applications;<\/li>\n<li>have a thorough knowledge of one official EU language and a satisfactory knowledge of French or English.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates who have already received more than 8 weeks of in-house placement (whether paid or unpaid) in a European institution, body, delegation or representative office or who have had any form of employment in a European institution or body shall not be accepted<\/li>\n<li>CoR-trainees are entitled to a monthly grant (approx. 1360 euros\/month).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Application periods:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong>3 January<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>3 April<\/strong>,\u00a0noon, Brussels time,\u00a0of the same year (for Autumn traineeships 16 September &#8211; 15 February);<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;\u00a0<strong>1 July<\/strong>\u00a0to\u00a0<strong>9 October<\/strong>, noon Brussels time, of previous year (for spring traineeships 16 February &#8211; 15 July).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applications are to be made exclusively via the Internet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The on-line application form is available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/candform.cor.europa.eu\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Short-term study visits<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CoR also offers short-term study visits\u00a0within one of its services to persons whose professional, academic or research activities indicate that they would familiarise with the Committee&#8217;s practical workings and\/or policies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The nature of the tasks to be fulfilled by trainees depends largely on the unit to which they are assigned; while some units are more political, others are more administrative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">EU citizens or citizens from a state which is an official candidate for accession (applicants of third countries may be granted a traineeship by the Secretary General in exceptional, duly motivated cases);<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">university graduates that have completed at least a Bachelor&#8217;s degree;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">be able to show that he\/she needs to deepen his\/her knowledge of the Committee of the Regions for reasons related to professional, academic or research activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All expenses during the study period are to be covered by the beneficiaries: they receive no grant, nor any other financial support from the CoR. The maximum duration forshort-term study visit\u00a0is 4 months, but it may be extended to 6 months depending on the resources available at the CoR.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Deadline:\u00a0There are no fixed deadlines for short term study visits.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants should\u00a0forward their CV and letter of motivation to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:trainee@cor.europa.eu\">trainee@cor.europa.eu<\/a>. The letter must state clearly in which department they\u00a0would like to work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Traineeship for Government Officials<\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CoR also offers traineeships to staff from a national, regional or local public authority of an EU Member state or an official accession candidate, including\u00a0civil servants enrolled in governmental training programme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eligible candidates get:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>1-4 months traineeship, extendable to 6 months possible with permission of the Secretary General<\/li>\n<li>Starting date is agreed upon with the candidate<\/li>\n<li>Full time\/ 40 hours<\/li>\n<li>Workplace in Brussels, Belgium<\/li>\n<li>Unpaid, all expenses to be covered by the participant or their sending authority<\/li>\n<li>Accident insurance covered by the CoR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Applicants need to submit their\u00a0curriculum vitae in English, French or German and a\u00a0motivation letter mentioning their preferred CoR-department to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:trainee@cor.europa.eu\">trainee@cor.europa.eu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h6><\/h6>\n<h6 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">More information:<\/span><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/programmes.eurodesk.eu\/internships#62442\">Call<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cor.europa.eu\/\">Committee of the Regions<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every year year, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) offers a limited number of traineeships to young citizens from Europe and elsewhere, giving them the opportunity to gain work experience in a European institution.
