There are now no surprise mandatory fees appearing on later pages;<\/li>\n<li>Airbnb clearly distinguishes if an\u00a0<strong>accommodation offer is put on the market by a private host or a professional<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Airbnb provides an\u00a0<strong>easily accessible link to the\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/consumers\/odr\/main\/?event=main.home.howitworks\"><strong>Online Dispute Resolution<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0platform<\/strong>\u00a0on its website and all the necessary information related to dispute resolution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Terms of service<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>makes clear that\u00a0<strong>users can bring a case against Airbnb<\/strong>\u00a0before the courts of their country of residence;<\/li>\n<li>respects users&#8217; basic legal rights to\u00a0<strong>sue a host in case of personal harm or other damages<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>commits not to\u00a0<strong>unilaterally change the terms and conditions<\/strong>\u00a0without clearly informing users in advance and without giving them the possibility to cancel the contract.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Background<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Consumer Protection Cooperation Network carried out a joint assessment of Airbnb&#8217;s practices and terms of service, under the facilitation of the European Commission and the lead of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbrukertilsynet.no\/\">Norwegian Consumer Authority<\/a>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbrukertilsynet.no\/\">Forbrukertilsynet<\/a>). The action was launched in July 2018<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/law-topic\/consumers\/consumer-protection-cooperation-regulation_en\">EU Consumer Protection Cooperation Regulation<\/a>\u00a0links national consumer authorities in a pan-European enforcement network.
