Together with Member States, we must put in place a framework that balances individual concerns and health system constraints, while unleashing innovation in healthcare for the benefit of all Europeans.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Commissioner\u00a0<strong>Gabriel<\/strong>\u00a0will convene tomorrow the second high-level roundtable that brings together representatives of the European Commission, the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical technology industries and the civil society. During the event she will discuss \u00a0the roadmap set out in the<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/digital-single-market\/en\/news\/communication-enabling-digital-transformation-health-and-care-digital-single-market-empowering\">Communication on the digital transformation of health and care<\/a>, adopted in April 2018, as well as other key topics, such as the next steps on the recently adopted\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/europa.eu\/rapid\/press-release_IP-19-842_en.htm\">Recommendation on the interoperability of electronic health records systems<\/a>, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.<\/p>\n<p>She will also highlight the importance of taking forward the exchange of health data across borders and addressing the\u00a0relevant privacy and data protection aspects.
