European Central Bank (ECB) is offering internships in <strong>Quantitative Analysis<\/strong> within the Directorate-General for Market Infrastructure and Payments, in Frankfurt am Main (Germany).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The successful candidate will join a team specialising in the analysis of transaction data from the Eurosystem\u2019s TARGET services, helping to improve the security, efficiency and integration of financial market infrastructures and payment systems in the euro area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\"><strong>Main responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Manage and analyse<\/strong> large sets of confidential transaction data using <strong>econometric and mathematical methods<\/strong>, as well as <strong>visualisation tools.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaborate<\/strong> on the <strong>creation and maintenance of databases<\/strong> and develop analytical tools and visualisation techniques.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support the collection, storage and exchange of information<\/strong>, explore new methods of analysis and propose solutions to technical problems.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Participate in economic analysis <\/strong>and policy-making <strong>projects <\/strong>to promote efficient and integrated financial markets in the euro area.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assess the regulatory compliance of financial market infrastructures<\/strong> and analyse their risks and interconnections.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Draft reports, memoranda and documents on analytical and policy projects,<\/strong> and communicate technical issues to non-specialist audiences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li data-pm-slice=\"1 3 []\"><strong>Basic:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A bachelor\u2019s degree or higher qualification<\/strong> in Economics, Business Administration, Econometrics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advanced English<\/strong> (C1) and <strong>an intermediate level (B1) in at least one other official EU language<\/strong>, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The<\/strong>following <strong>will be considered an advantage:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Further qualifications:<\/strong> a Master\u2019s degree or higher qualification in one of the areas mentioned.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Knowledge<\/strong> of<strong>or experience<\/strong> with large datasets, including their cleaning and preparation for analysis.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Experience<\/strong> with Excel, SQL, Stata, R, Python or MATLAB, as well as with <strong>network analysis or data visualisation tools<\/strong> such as Tableau or Power BI.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Experience with financial datasets<\/strong> or <strong>knowledge<\/strong> of financial instruments.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with panel data or econometric time-series methods.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Knowledge of or experience with payment systems, securities settlement, central counterparties or collateral management,<\/strong> from an operational, regulatory or supervisory perspective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We are also looking for people who are <strong>curious<\/strong>, <strong>proactive<\/strong> and <strong>able to analyse<\/strong> complex information, <strong>collaborate as part of a team<\/strong>, <strong>adapt to different perspectives<\/strong>, <strong>identify needs<\/strong> and <strong>propose solutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Benefits and terms:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A <strong>monthly<\/strong> grant of <strong>\u20ac1,170<\/strong>, plus a <strong>contribution towards accommodation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Initial duration of 6 months,<\/strong> with <strong>the possibility of extension<\/strong> up to a maximum of 12 months.<\/li>\n<li>Full-time position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:
