Every year, the <strong>European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)<\/strong> offers an internship programme in <strong>Stockholm, Sweden<\/strong>, aimed at university graduates who are at the start of their careers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The placements provide an insight into how the ECDC operates and its role in protecting European public health, whilst offering the opportunity to gain <strong>professional experience and practical skills<\/strong> in an international environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>\u20ac2,205.72 per month<\/strong> as a guide for 2026. (The exact amount of the grant for <strong>2027 has not yet been determined<\/strong> and will be communicated to successful candidates.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Contribution towards travel expenses<\/strong> at the start and end of the placement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Duration of <strong>5 to 9 months<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Professional experience at an <strong>EU agency<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Involvement in professional areas related to the ECDC\u2019s activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Who can apply?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Citizens of an <strong>EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Must have completed their studies and obtained a <strong>university degree<\/strong> before the deadline.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Excellent command of English<\/strong>. Knowledge of other EU languages will be regarded as an asset.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You must not have previously undertaken, nor be currently undertaking, <strong>a placement or employment<\/strong> with an EU institution, agency, body or delegation, whether paid or unpaid.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Available internship areas<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For the 2027 intake, there are <strong>12 internship places<\/strong> in various professional fields at the ECDC:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respiratory viruses<\/li>\n<li>Digital solutions<\/li>\n<li>Antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections<\/li>\n<li>Foodborne, waterborne and vector-borne diseases and zoonoses<\/li>\n<li>Social and behavioural sciences<\/li>\n<li>Scientific and public health communication<\/li>\n<li>Emergency preparedness and response<\/li>\n<li>Epidemiological intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Governance and international relations<\/li>\n<li>Human resources<\/li>\n<li>Procurement<\/li>\n<li>Sexually transmitted infections, blood-borne viruses and tuberculosis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Selection process<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-spread=\"false\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Deadline for applications: 5 October 2026<\/strong>, by 12:00 (midday), Stockholm time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted <strong>from mid-October 2026 onwards<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Interviews are scheduled to take place until <strong>mid-December 2026<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The start date is expected to be between <strong>February and April 2027<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Each candidate may submit <strong>only one application<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/programmes.eurodesk.eu\/eu\/programme\/19702\/eu\">Eurodesk<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Would you like to start your career at a European Union agency dedicated to the prevention and control of infectious diseases?
