Would you like to take your first professional steps at the heart of the European justice system? The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU)<\/strong> offers internships for recent graduates in Luxembourg<\/strong>, giving you the chance to gain an inside insight into the workings of one of the Union\u2019s key institutions.<\/p>\n These placements enable you to gain legal and professional experience within a European judicial institution<\/strong>, work in a dynamic, multilingual environment, and collaborate with professionals who contribute to the application and defence of the European Union\u2019s fundamental values, such as democracy, the rule of law and human rights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The traineeships may take place in the chambers of Judges and Advocates General<\/strong>, in the Court of Justice\u2019s administrative departments<\/strong> or in its Interpretation Service<\/strong>, depending on each candidate\u2019s background and profile.<\/p>\n If you wish to gain practical experience in European Union law and gain an insider\u2019s view of how the EU\u2019s judicial institution operates<\/strong>, the Court of Justice\u2019s traineeships offer a particularly interesting opportunity for recent graduates and legal professionals.<\/p>\n Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n Your role:<\/strong><\/p>\n As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work in different areas depending on your academic background and interests:<\/p>\n These work placements are primarily aimed at law<\/strong> graduates, particularly those with a background in EU law, although candidates with a background in political science, economics or other related fields may also be considered. They typically last between three and five months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Internships are open to graduates from various academic disciplines, although certain departments may require specific qualifications.<\/p>\n Trainees may be assigned to, amongst others:<\/p>\n During the work placement, participants will familiarise themselves with the tasks specific to the relevant department and gain practical experience under the supervision of experienced officials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The usual duration is five months<\/strong>, with two internship periods per year:<\/p>\n Graduates with a degree in Conference Interpreting<\/strong> may apply for work placements with the Interpreting Service.<\/p>\n During this period, they will be able to:<\/p>\n The work placements last between 10 and 12 weeks<\/strong>, and selection takes place once a year for the entire judicial year.<\/p>\n To apply, candidates must have at least two passive languages or one active second language<\/strong>, as well as being able to read French.<\/p>\n Basic Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n Particular value will be placed on an interest in<\/strong> and knowledge of European Union law<\/strong>, as well as the ability to work in a multilingual, international and legally specialised<\/strong> environment.<\/p>\n Furthermore, the Tribunal is looking for individuals with an interest in its activities, the ability to learn and a willingness to collaborate with professionals from different backgrounds and nationalities.<\/p>\n Duration and start date:<\/strong><\/p>\n The duration depends on the programme:<\/p>\n The standard programmes run twice a year:<\/p>\n Application process:<\/strong><\/p>\n The application periods are, generally speaking:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Inclusion programme for people with disabilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Court of Justice also has a specific programme designed to facilitate access to work placements for people with disabilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Two places<\/strong> are available per internship period<\/strong>, lasting between three and five months<\/strong>, in the chambers of the Members or in the administrative departments.<\/p>\n Applications may be submitted in areas such as:<\/p>\n\n
