The internships will last approximately 6 to 8 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">NATO offers six-month internships to third-year university students or recent graduates with a bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree. These internships cover a wide range of knowledge and skills, offering opportunities in areas such as political affairs, defence and security, innovation, operations, communications, corporate support and human resources, finance, science and technology, and infrastructure and facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">The internships take place at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, a vibrant city that serves as a hub for many European and other international organisations, and a centre of activity and networking for young professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">The NATO Internship Programme offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from the NATO community, whilst gaining six months of valuable work experience and a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the Alliance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">Must be over 21 years of age at the time of the placement (for insurance purposes).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">National of a <\/span><span dir=\"auto\">NATO member state<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">At least two years of university study or equivalent, and currently enrolled in your third year or having graduated from your highest degree less than one year ago.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">Proficiency in one of NATO\u2019s official languages (English\/French); working knowledge of the other will be an advantage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">Interns must have health insurance cover and complete the necessary formalities with the Belgian authorities regarding their stay in Belgium.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Monthly stipend of \u20ac1,335.<\/li>\n<li>Once your start date has been confirmed, you will receive a prepaid economy class return flight or train ticket from your place of origin, up to a value of \u20ac1,200. If you travel to Brussels by car, these expenses will be reimbursed.<\/li>\n<li>You will be entitled to 15 days\u2019 paid leave during the six-month internship period.<\/li>\n<li>During the internship, you will take part in an induction programme and monthly briefing sessions that will provide you with an overview of NATO\u2019s activities and structure. These sessions offer unique opportunities to meet experienced staff and officials from across the Alliance, and to discuss topics of interest with them and with other interns.
