{"id":167102,"date":"2026-04-10T03:00:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T01:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=167102"},"modified":"2026-04-09T10:36:36","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T08:36:36","slug":"nuevas-normas-de-integridad-y-transparencia-del-mercado-energetico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/nuevas-normas-de-integridad-y-transparencia-del-mercado-energetico\/","title":{"rendered":"New rules on integrity and transparency in the energy market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">Two important sets of rules aimed at making energy markets more transparent and fair have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/alternative-energy-background-blue-1036936.jpg\" alt=\"La Comisi\u00f3n Europea aprueba la medida espa\u00f1ola y portuguesa para reducir el precio de la electricidad\" width=\"695\" height=\"463\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">One set of rules, a Delegated Regulation on insider information platforms and registered reporting mechanisms, concerns the authorisation procedure, the revocation of authorisations and the supervision of entities that report energy market data to the<\/span><span class=\"ecl-link__label\"><span dir=\"auto\"> European Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators<\/span><\/span><span dir=\"auto\">(ACER). The aim is to ensure that the process of authorising and supervising these entities is straightforward and fair.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">The other set of rules, which repeals Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1348\/2014 on data reporting, seeks to improve the way in which energy market data is reported to ACER, enabling the latter to better supervise wholesale energy markets and detect potential market abuses. Its aim is to establish a balanced framework for market participants to provide data to ACER, whilst alleviating, as far as possible, the administrative burden that data reporting places on those participants.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">These rules will enter into force on 29 April 2026. Once in force, there will be a transition period regarding the applicability of most of its provisions to allow market participants and other relevant stakeholders time to adapt to the changes introduced.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Background<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\">These rules have been adopted pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 1227\/2011 on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency (REMIT), as amended in 2024, which ensures effective supervision and transparency in the wholesale energy market, as well as the prevention of market manipulation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>More information: <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.ec.europa.eu\/news\/new-energy-market-integrity-and-transparency-rules-2026-04-09_en\">European Commission.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two important sets of rules aimed at making energy markets more transparent and fair have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
