{"id":166297,"date":"2026-03-10T03:00:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T02:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/?p=166297"},"modified":"2026-03-09T10:08:47","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T09:08:47","slug":"practicas-agencia-europea-de-seguridad-maritima-emsa-portugal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/en\/practicas-agencia-europea-de-seguridad-maritima-emsa-portugal\/","title":{"rendered":"Internships &#8211; European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) &#8211; Portugal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ual.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/pexels-sascha-hormel-1095814-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"buque comercio mar\u00edtimo\" width=\"494\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span dir=\"auto\"><strong>The European Maritime Safety Agency<\/strong> was established to ensure a high, uniform and effective level of maritime safety, maritime security and prevention of and response to pollution caused by ships in the EU.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Agency provides technical, operational and scientific assistance to the European Commission and Member States in the areas of maritime safety, maritime security, prevention and response to pollution caused by ships, as well as response to marine pollution caused by oil and gas installations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">EMSA plans to select 15 trainees for internships in various units from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The available positions include:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>EO Unit: Executive Office, Communication. The <\/strong>intern will play an important role in supporting the communication team by taking and editing photographs of events and seminars, performing graphic design work, and preparing visual elements and short video clips for social media.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unit 1. Sustainability.<\/strong> The apprentice will provide support in areas related to pollution prevention and response.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unit 1.2. Visits and inspections, human element. The <\/strong>intern will assist and support project officers in the unit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unit 1.3. Capacity building.<\/strong>The intern will play an important role in supporting the EMSA Academy in the creation and development of specialised graphic and multimedia content within the e-lab. The main objective of this role is to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Academy&#8217;s educational materials.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unit 1.4. EMSA Academy.<\/strong> The intern will support the daily management, maintenance and support of EMSA&#8217;s Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS). The position involves assisting with system administration, troubleshooting, user support and ensuring optimal performance of the platform. He\/she will collaborate with course coordinators and end users to optimise the learning experience of EMSA Academy beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unit 2. Ship Safety. The <\/strong>intern will assist and support project officers in the unit.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Unit 3. Integrated Maritime Services.<\/strong> The intern will support the development and maintenance of various IMS functionalities. The internship will include a period of familiarisation with the legal and operational context, as well as with how the relationship with users is implemented at EMSA, for example, from the collection of users&#8217; business requirements to the implementation of those requirements of the Integrated Maritime Services (IMS) in the graphical user interface (GUI) of the SafeSeaNet ecosystem (SEG).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"ctl00_cphMain_VacNotice_PnlEligibility\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h4><span dir=\"auto\">A.1<\/span><span id=\"ctl00_cphMain_VacNotice_LabEducationTitle\"><span dir=\"auto\">Nationality and education<\/span><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">Candidates must be nationals of one of the Member States of the European Union or of Iceland or Norway;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span dir=\"auto\">Candidates must have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent before the closing date for applications.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Please note that due to the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union on 31\/01\/2020, candidates from the United Kingdom who do not hold the nationality of another Member State of the European Union are not eligible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">Only degrees awarded in EU Member States or subject to equivalence certificates issued by the authorities of those States will be considered. Please note that qualifications awarded by the United Kingdom until 31 December 2020 are considered valid.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span dir=\"auto\">A.2 Language skills<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><span id=\"ctl00_cphMain_VacNotice_LabLanguageSkills\"><span dir=\"auto\">The main working language in the field of maritime safety is English.
